I haven't treated the leather at all, so yes it's tight, but as it mounts horizontally on your belt you need a tight fit to be sure your knife doesn't slide out. it's a simple but ingenious design, well made with good materials. I bought this for my small Schrade Imperial Sodbuster, and it's like it was custom made to fit it. PS the Opinel 6 and 7 fit this and are a far better fit overall and not leave you looking like you've done a big jobbie. Over all it's ok but too small for the High carbon knife from Rough Rider. The sheath is soft and supple after a good going over with leather dubbin, the Rough Rider High Carbon Canoe will fit but it fits so tight that you will not remove it while it's on your belt, and in your hand you will swear at it. The problem I have with it is that it doesn't fit on ANY of my belts, most of which I bought from HH, so pretty useless for me really. This simple design will hold a variety of small folders, with varying degrees of security. A small Victorinox or, as mentioned previously, Opinel may fit, but if your knife is bigger than the aforementioned bic lighter, find an alternative. It just fits a 35mm leather belt, but once fitted you cant even squeeze a bic lighter in the sheath. The sheath also struggles with wide belts. I have a small Laguiole with a 2.5" blade that is a snug fit but anything larger won't go. This knife sheath is somewhat smaller than I was expecting. Belt also a tight fit, but it will loosen up over time. Other reviewers have mentioned that it's a tight fit. So I just gave it a bash and it's blown me away. To be honest, I've looked at it before and could never figure out how and if it might work. My goto EDC pocket knife sheath so far has been the incredibly versatile and secure MKM Magnetic Leather Sheath. A few reviews mention soaking in hot water so will try that next. 10/10 Rating.īought this along with the barlow, does fit you need two hands to remove it! Once on a belt becomes almost impossible. I can definitely highly recommend this product. Will eventually mould to the individual knife being kept in the pouch/sheath If leather seems a bit reluctant to mould to your particular knife, then simply treat the leather with some good quality leather treatment.
